Fishing

Well summer is on us again, the water has reached a nice 20+ deg and the fish are on the chew again. Over the past few weeks there have been a lot of nice Flathead caught in the lake, but as per usual it is still up and down, but will improve as the water gets warmer, and the fish's metabolism kicks into full gear.
We are seeing some nice flathead most of which are being caught on soft plastic lures or poddy mullet. Plastic colours that have been working have varied and range from lighter gold fleck lures to dark green or pumpkin seed and a bit of experimentation may be needed depending on the colour of the water on the day, but once you decide on the colour you won't have any trouble getting a feed.
Jew fish are still coming in on a weekly basis on both bait and lure.
Surface lures are producing both bream and whiting.
Some large schools of Salmon are swimming into the lake with the tides and by watching where the Shags and Pelicans are bunching up they can be found in good numbers.
At the Boatshed we have added a few NEW plastic types and colours and removed a few we found didn't work to well. We have also added some new hard bodies from Ecogear so don't forget to drop by and talk to the boys about what's new and what's working!

The beaches have still been holding large numbers of Salmon and Taylor.
